Named 'Ventopuro' after the 'pure ocean winds' that influence Chile's climate, this red is made by a winegrower who constantly look to break boundaries in adventurous winegrowing and sustainability. It pairs beautifully with the velvety bramble fruits of the Punto Alto Malbec, whose name is inspired by Mt. Aconcagua, in whose shadow much of Argentina's Malbec is grown.

Deep red in colour with intense aromas of cherries, blueberries, and a bit of black pepper, the Ventopuro Merlot is truly a wonderful red wine. The palate is smooth and silky with good structure and along and pleasing finish. Ventopuro parent company Matetic's commitment to sustainability which has seen it receive the Wine of Chile Seal Of Sustainability for its three tiered sustainability programme, and its label is inspired by the winery's plastic recycling programme. Punto Alto, or 'High Point' is an organically grown Malbec made in the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina. Grown in the shadows of Mt Aconcagua, which at 6962m is the highest peak in the southern and western hemispheres, it has a concentrated palate of bramble fruits and black cherries, and is velvety with a chocolate finish. Punto Alto Malbec is shipped to the UK using the most environmentally friendly method, and bottled at a carbon-minus bottling facility.
