Terms and Conditions
The Contract Between Us
Your orders are an offer to purchase goods from us. We will confirm receipt and acceptance of your order by sending you an email summarising the details of your order - this is the point at which we accept your order and the contract is formed (subject to these Terms & Conditions). If we cannot accept your order, we will notify you.
Product Description and Specifications
We have made every effort to ensure that the goods displayed on this website and in our brochures conform to the descriptions and photographs. The colours, specifications, dimensions and descriptions of items on the website and brochures are quoted as accurately as possible, but please note that all images are for illustration purposes only. The colours you see will depend on the resolution of your monitor and we cannot therefore guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will always reflect accurately the colour of the item delivered. We reserve the right from time to time to vary the dimensions, specifications, descriptions and quantities of items displayed on our website without prior notice.
Glasses, utensils, plates, decorative items and other photographic props are not included with the hamper unless specifically stated.
Please be aware that our letterbox gifts and gift boxes are not shipped in additional packaging other than the Monty&Ridge boxes pictured. The shipping label will be attached to the outside of the gift box.
Substitution Items
We may substitute an item of equal or greater value than the original item listed, or issue a refund for the product. This applies to items within Hampers, Gift Boxes and mixed orders.
Product Shelf Life
In respect of ambient hampers we guarantee a minimum shelf life of 28 days for the earliest dated product within the gift unless the hamper is being sold on a specific promotion which compensates for the reduced shelf life. For fresh food hampers (which can include cheese, fish, meat and pates) we guarantee a minimum shelf life of 7 days for the earliest dated product within the gift unless the hamper is being sold on a specific promotion which compensates for the reduced shelf life. If you are purchasing a hamper that is part of our Christmas range the minimum shelf life will typically be 3rd January, Our shelf life promise is only guaranteed if the delivery of the hamper is successful on the carrier’s first attempt.
Gift Messages
A personal handwritten gift message of up to 150 characters can be included with all orders. Please note that 'special' characters, clip art images, emoticons, etc. are not recognised. Please decide on your message before placing an order as an amendment after the order has been placed may not be possible. The gift message will be written on a card and tucked inside the gift.
Prices, VAT and duties
Products are displayed with prices in GBP sterling at the time of your order. Prices displayed on the website include Value Added Tax which will be applied at the current rate where applicable. Prices may be subject to variation without notice. If there is a pricing error on our website, we will contact you as soon as possible. You will have the option of reconfirming your order at the revised price or cancelling your order and receiving a refund. If we are unable to reach you, your order for the incorrectly priced item will be cancelled, and we are not obliged to honour such orders.
All prices include VAT at variable rates and duty charged at the rates prevailing. We reserve the right to amend prices according to legislative change. Not every item in a hamper is subject to VAT and therefore hampers may not incur standard VAT at the prevailing rate as the VAT is calculated on a weighted average basis.
Payment
All payments for goods must be made when the order is placed. We will not reserve or despatch goods before payment is received. Our website uses high-level SSL encryption technology. You can therefore rest assured that we take the privacy and security of your payment and personal details very seriously.
Credit terms are available by application for large corporate orders. Our terms of payment are 30 days from invoice date.
Discounts and Vouchers
Promotion or discount codes entitle the holder, when used at the time of ordering, to a saving on a new order placed via the website.
Discount codes are only valid for orders placed via the website.
Discount codes are not valid in conjunction with any other voucher code or offer, unless otherwise stated.
Single use discount codes are valid for one order to one address per customer.
Discount codes are only valid on specific products, while stocks last, and may be withdrawn at any time.
We reserve the right to decline orders where, in our opinion, a discount code is being used fraudulently or is invalid.
In the event of product returns, the order value will be at the discounted rate (not the RRP), and this figure used for calculations of refunds.
Additional terms and conditions may be advised and apply to specific discount codes.
Delivery to United Kingdom Addresses
For full information of our delivery services and charges, please see the Delivery Information page on our website.
If you order a number of items for delivery to the same address, they may be despatched separately and we cannot guarantee delivery on the same day unless specific date delivery is selected. We make every effort to despatch items on time. If the items are not delivered within the time period that we specify in the Confirmation Email, please contact us quoting the order reference contained in your Order Confirmation Email.
If delivery fails or the delivery is refused by the recipient (e.g. an unwanted gift), refunds will not be available in these circumstances. Any additional delivery charges incurred due to errors by you upon ordering may be passed on to you.
Delivery times may vary according to availability and any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are limited to mainland UK and subject to any delays resulting from postal delays or force majeure (e.g. weather) for which we will not be responsible.
We will replace goods lost in transit provided that we are notified within 28 days of the due delivery date.
Customs Duties
Items for delivery outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, taxes and fees. These are levied once the items reach the specified destination. You are responsible for import duties, taxes and fees incurred on your purchases. We cannot guarantee that your goods will arrive in the same condition that they were dispatched should they be subject to inspection.
Cancellations Prior To Despatch
Once confirmed, it may not be possible to prevent an order from despatch.
See our Returns and Refunds Policy and Delivery Information pages for more information.
Cancellations After Dispatch
If you wish to cancel the order once it has been dispatched due to the following:
a) Incorrect delivery information provided
b) Carrier unable to deliver due to unavailability of recipient and the hamper is returned
Please notify us in writing within 7 days to request a refund, which will be given at 50% of the invoiced price of the hamper less the original delivery cost and the applicable return charges.
If a hamper is not returned to us, then no refund can be issued.
Please note that we are unable to issue refunds for bespoke hampers, personalised hampers and fresh hampers.
Please note that we are unable to reimburse the cost of returning an item to us under these circumstances, as we will arrange collection through our own carrier at no cost to you.
Refund Exceptions
If your order contains any of the following items we will be unable to refund your order (including postage & packaging) once it has been delivered:
Fresh food gifts (including cheese, meat or fish)
Personalised and branded goods
Bespoke hampers. Please note that from the time of receiving your order in writing, we purchase component parts relating to your hamper and we regret that these orders cannot be cancelled.
Right to Cancel and Return Purchases
You have the right to cancel your order made online within a ‘cooling off’ period of 14 days from the day after you receive the goods. This means we will refund the total cost of the product less any delivery charges, provided you comply with the below:
1. You notify us of your cancellation in writing (letter or email) to this address within 14 working days of delivery.
2. The goods remain unused and component parts are unopened.
3. You or the recipient retain and take reasonable care of the goods until returned.
Refunds will be issued upon receipt of the item.
This right applies to all items except:
Sealed items where the seal or cellophane has been broken
Personalised or bespoke items
Fresh food gifts (including cheese, meat or fish)
Buyers are responsible for return postage costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
If you wish to cancel your order and return your purchase, please email us with your order details. As we do not include packing slips with orders by default, we cannot offer a refund if items are returned to us without prior notification because your order may not be identifiable upon receipt.
Items Which Are Damaged in Transit, Defective Or Incorrect
If you take delivery of a package from us and the goods being delivered to you have been damaged in transit, or are defective, not as described, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or are not per a sample, we will at your option either exchange or repair these items without charge to you, or provide you with a full refund, if the fault is notified to us within 30 days of you receiving the product.
Beyond 30 days, we will provide you with either an exchange or repair in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We will check the items on their return, and we may request proof of purchase and/or photos of the damage and packaging in order to enable us to investigate the matter.
In the case of fresh food, any fault must be notified to us before the expiry date of the earliest dated item in the hamper, which will be sooner than 30 days.
See our Returns and Refunds Policy for more information.
